About David C Price Art
About My Work
My thoughts:
Art for me is a journey of self-discovery and curiosity which is never ending. I enjoy exploring collage and abstraction because they allow expression of my thoughts and image in my mind and no worry about the limitation of depicting physical subject as in traditional painting.
Philosophy:
To truly express the inner self, it is important to be spontaneous and let emotional energy be the guide when designing and composing the work. To achieve a breakthrough often does not mean perfecting what I do but to experiment with materials and techniques I have used.
Process:
I choose from a variety of substrates ranging from paper, board to canvas and begin with the background color and the first element that spark the image and mood I want to create. There is no limit in what I use to build up the composition layer by layer. Structure and dimension begin to emerge and speak my mind in its own special visual language.

Current Practice
Painting in watercolor, oils & acrylic
Collage with photos and found paper
